Synesthesia is a perceptual phenomenon in which stimulation of one sensory or cognitive pathway leads to involuntary experiences in a second sensory or cognitive pathway. IE seeing colours while listening to music. Some famous musicians and composers with synesthesia are/were Duke Ellington (sound to colour), Franz Liszt (sound to colour), and Rimsky-Korsakov (sound to colour). Some fun info about synesthesia
This document was prepared by Nora Gordon a mezzo soprano based in Ireland who has synesthesia.
